This new body of work is entitled Carbon Capture, a ridiculing nod to the eponymous industrial technology promising to remedy the very crisis coal helped create.
Anthracite coal, one of earth's most carbon-dense materials containing over 90% carbon, is forever cast in a mould, thus literally capturing carbon. Each piece of coal a sealed geological specimen, holding carbon drawn from the atmosphere millions of years ago through photosynthesis.
